| A: |
A
session lasts 60 minutes, 50 minutes on the table and
ten minutes for the client to undress and dress. |
 |
| Q: |
Are massages safe? |
A:
|
Massage Therapy is safe for most people. You will be asked to fill out a
medical history form
prior to your first treatment. Please be ready to list
all medicines, recent surgeries or other pertinent medical conditions
you may have. This ensures that the treatment you receive is appropriate and safe. |
 |
| Q: |
What should I wear during the massage? |
A:

|
The therapist will leave the room to allow you privacy to undress and to
get on the table. Manyclients wear just their underclothing.
You may
undress down to what you are comfortable with. You will be COVERED at
all times with a sheet and blanket during the entire session to ensure
your privacy. THIS IS A STATE LAW AND WILL BE ENFORCED AT ALL TIMES.
The therapist reserves the right to
terminate the session at any time if there is a conflict
in abiding by state laws. |
 |
| Q: |
What happens during a massage therapy session? |
A:
 |
At your first massage therapy session, the practitioner will ask you
about any symptoms you
may have (like low back pain) and will also ask
questions about your medical history. The practitioner may also initiate
a discussion about what you expect to achieve from the session.
The therapist leaves the room while you undress and lie down on the
massage table. A sheet is
draped over your body during the session and
moved only to work on the part of the body being
worked on at any given
time. Massage gel or crème is often used to reduce friction between the
practitioner's hands and your skin.
The room is kept warm and free of
distractions. The therapist may have soft music playing in the
background and frequently asks whether they are
applying too much or too
little pressure.
The manner in which a practitioner massages your body depends on the
problem being treated.
A massage session can last from 15 - 90 minutes
and may include a schedule of follow-up visits,
depending on the
severity of your situation. |
